About The Heath
The Heath has some exciting future plans! click here for more information.
"This is what the future of the UK economy is about. It is about constant change and adaptation. It is about investment in science, technology and skills. This is the type of project that in different parts of the country needs to be replicated and is one of the reasons we wanted to come here today"
Prime Minister Tony Blair during a visit to the Heath, April 2005
" This is one of the best examples I know of regeneration of this kind."
Science and Innovation Minister
Lord Sainsbury
" It is heartening to see how The Heath Business & Technical Park has evolved and how large numbers of people are back working here. The people behind the business park have done a quite remarkable job to regenerate the site after ICI left. I'm so pleased The Heath is not only surviving but thriving."
Former Chairman of ICI
Sir John Harvey-Jones MBE
The Heath is a major business and technical park just off junction 12 of the M56 in Cheshire, near Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington and Chester. Ideally placed for the motorway, air and railway networks, it is situated in mature parkland surrounded by an exclusive 18-hole golf course and woodlands.
As well as a huge range of different types of serviced office accommodation - from small units designed for sole-traders starting their first business to government departments and large call centres - The Heath offers unrivalled scientific and laboratory facilities. As a former ICI site, we believe our exceptional support facilities and unique heritage make us the finest business and scientific site in the North West.
As we recognise the needs of business and the scientific community we've also created a state of the art conference centre. What better place to hold your conferences and business meetings than an easily accessible venue in glorious surroundings with fantastic facilities?
The Heath is owned, operated and managed by SOG Ltd.
Why come to the Heath?
Because we have it all! As well as location we can provide image, transport, facilities and an unrivalled level of support.
But the secret of our success - and the biggest benefit for you - is flexibility. Companies can enjoy The Heath for as little as one week or take longer licence agreements over several years. Our flexibility allows companies to grow cost effectively, as and when they need to, and only pay for the services they require.
Small businesses can enjoy the facilities and image normally associated with much larger companies. For example;
- Dedicated reception team to welcome your visitors
- Purpose-built conference centre with lecture theatre, meeting rooms and an audio-conferencing studio
- Access to a travel centre, print shop, mail services and retail mall
- Expert scientific support including experienced technical researchers, scientific glassblowers, engineering support and a Technical Information Centre.
- 24/7 security presence and access via security cardkeys
- 1,500 free parking spaces.
But it's not all about business - we've created a business village and built in opportunities for quality leisure time, with a range of catering services from licensed restaurants, snack bars, and internet café. There is a gym, hair and beauty salon and access to an adjacent 18-hole private golf course.

The History of the Heath
The Heath was originally an ICI facility designed for the bulk chemical industry when it was built in 1962. It is now a major enterprise in the Runcorn area owned and managed by SOG Ltd , the former ICI Site Operations Group.
Residents of The Heath benefit from over 40 years experience of operating and managing a major site of both serviced office accommodation and scientific enterprise.
This has resulted in huge success, with many of the offices and laboratories in the 55 acre site now occupied. In fact, it has been so successful that many politicians and captains of industry have viewed the site to praise and share in its success.
