The Cheshire Landscape Trust is a registered charity, established in 1981. Our aim is to promote awareness of the landscape and to work with individuals and groups to enhance and improve it. Community action and sustainable development are central to our activities. Most of our work is carried out with the help of Parish Councils, schools and community groups. We undertake practical projects such as tree planting, hedge gapping-up,orchard planting and dry stone walling, and other projects such as parish maps, village design statements, parish landscape statements and landscape character assessments. We promote wildlife, habitat and landscape conservation projects, encourage research into Cheshire's landscape history and organise the Parish Tree Warden Scheme, Tree Guardians and Cheshire Orchard Project
