New businesses move to The Heath Business and Technical Park

The summer has seen a number of new companies moving on to the award-winning Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn.

The Heath, which offers space and support services to businesses of all sizes from start-ups to medium and large established companies, has signed agreements with firms including:

  • Icare Group, the domiciliary care providers
  • Torvik FM which specialises in Facilities Management
  • North West Consulting, an automotive recruitment company

Tony Girvan, Managing Director for Torvik Facilities Management which moved on to The Heath in August, said: “We are a small consultancy business specialising in Facilities Management with over 30 years’ experience in the sector operating across Corporate, Retail, Health, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Along with strategy planning, change management, interim support and procurement, we help organisations get the best from their property assets through the use of leading technologies and its practicable application in predictive maintenance.  We decided to base our office at The Heath because of the excellent transport links to all the North West’s key cities and of course London, and also the technical history of the site and many of The Heath’s current resident businesses.”

The Heath has become the latest North West office of Icare Group which has its headquarters in Blackburn and also has care offices in Knowsley, Blackpool, Darwen and Leyland.

Icare, which opened its office at The Heath in July, are a domiciliary care provider supporting vulnerable adults to remain living in the local community in their own homes, independently ensuring social inclusion. They offer services including personal care, social and domestic support, shopping, escorting to medical appointments and promoting individuals’ wellbeing.

Care Manager Kate Garaven said: “The Heath is situated in a professional setting in a great central location for our staff to get to. We have seven staff based in our office at The Heath and 34 care staff out in the community.”

Automotive recruiters North West Consulting opened its office at The Heath in August. Founder Andrew Langley hopes to appoint three additional staff to his business over the next year.  He says he chose The Heath as the ideal base for his operations ‘because of location and cost’.

He says: “Automotive recruitment is quite bespoke with dealers wanting good candidates with previous motor industry experience. I would be happy to offer a referral scheme for ALL employees that work at The Heath. If they refer a candidate to me that we place, they will receive £100 worth of high street vouchers.”
