The Heath and Liverpool John Moores University join forces to launch city Business Hub

SOG Ltd, owners and operators of The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) have joined forces to create a unique business lounge in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district.

‘The Business Hub’ provides an ‘office away from the office’ and a gateway to a wealth of expertise and resources from two of the region’s leading organisations.

The lounge, situated in Hatton Garden, Liverpool, will benefit existing businesses wanting a base in Liverpool city centre, ambitious firms hoping to capitalise on the world class support available from LJMU and The Heath, and fledgling companies on the verge of launching into the commercial world.

As well as offering a comfortable working environment and all the facilities needed to be productive throughout the working day, The Business Hub makes available the space, services and skills of two leading organisations, both renowned for their commercial awareness and for successfully supporting businesses to achieve their goals.

A range of membership options is available, affording businesses the flexibility to select a package which best addresses their needs and priorities. Packages include full office support facilities, business advice, discounted meeting rooms, access to networking events and a range of high quality business consultancy.

Membership is open to businesses from as little as £750 p.a. and will be available from January 2009.

Dr Peter Cook, SOG Managing Director at The Heath, said: “Merseyside is already at the cutting edge of science and business and by forging this new link with Liverpool John Moores University, we hope to promote business success and innovation in the region even more.

“It is an ideal marriage. By giving organisations access to both business and academic expertise we are providing the best of both worlds. At The Heath, we have a wealth of experience in promoting successful businesses. After only eight years, we now rate as one of the UK’s largest independent business parks, providing a base and support for nearly 200 thriving companies. It is a formula which I know is going to be a success in Liverpool City Centre and we are looking forward to working with the university to promote business growth in the region.”

Professor Michael Brown, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University, said:

“Given the current economic climate, it is even more vital that Merseyside businesses receive expert support in order to beat the recession. By combining the expertise of one of Europe’s largest and most successful business parks with LJMU’s strengths in research, consultancy and strategic management, we will be able to offer a comprehensive range of business services unrivalled anywhere else in Liverpool.”
