Waste ManagementSOG Ltd is often asked what facilities we have for waste disposal and recycling. Residents should arrange disposal of any waste through SOG and must not under any circumstances place items into the SOG skips on the Heath without proper authorisation. 'Fly tipping' of domestic waste is strictly prohibited. Waste paper for recycling - should be bagged in brown paper sacks available from the mailroom and is recycled free of charge. Collection should be arranged via the SOG Help Desk on Ext 3030 (01928) 513030. (this can include old brochures, newspapers, old stationery, letterheads etc., but please do not include any envelopes, plastic folders or cardboard wallets). Confidential waste paper - there are 2 options depending on how much confidential waste you generate. For £9 per month you can rent a secure console (size of a domestic fridge) which sits in your office and is emptied on a monthly basis. If you do not generate enough to fill this unit on a monthly basis, but require an occasional one off collection, you can use the brown paper sacks (available via the mailroom) marking them clearly as ‘confidential’ and report them via the SOG Help Desk on Ext 3030 (01928 513030) telling them how many bags you have. Please do not include any other materials such as plastic wallets or ring binders and make sure the bags are no more than 15kg. The cost of this option is £4.20 per bag and the bags should remain in your location until the monthly collection day. Cardboard - call the SOG Help Desk on Ext 3030 (01928) 513030.to arrange collection, free of charge. Glass bottles/Jars etc - should be taken to the nearest beverage prep room and placed in the glass bins. They should never be placed in the normal office wastebins. Any large glass items or broken glass can be collected by arrangement with the SOG Help Desk on Ext 3030 (01928) 513030. Toner Cartridges - Contact the SOG Help Desk and these will be collected free of charge for recycling or disposal. Metal - most scrap metal can be disposed of free of charge and collection can be arranged via the SOG Help Desk. (Note: fridges/freezers are classed as electrical equipment - contact Help Desk for information). Ext 3030 (01928) 513030. Office Waste Disposal and RecyclingOffice waste placed in office waste bins is collected and disposed of daily as general waste. Other Office Waste - Plastic folders, wallets, mail trays, packaging materials etc., should be bagged or boxed and collection arranged via the SOG Help Desk.
