Polymorph take home 2019 Prestige Award
The Merseyside Innovation Awards (MIA) concluded last night and saw leading IT services company, Polymorph, receive the 2019 MIA Prestige Award, recognising businesses with a turnover of £1m-£25m who are investing in innovation and employment in the Liverpool City Region, on a larger scale than the main MIA award contenders.
Runcorn-based, Polymorph’s Mercury software enables naval forces, countries and intelligence agencies to securely share information in real-time and has successfully protected World Food Programme vessels in delivering 1.7 million tonnes of food and reducing the number of hostages taken from 237 (2011) to zero in 2017.
Mercury’s success has also directly generated £3 million of revenue for Polymorph and allowed the company to expand and invest in the infrastructure of its local IT team.
Presented by Joanne Phoenix, Sensor City the award was the highly anticipated culmination of 2019’s Awards Programme.
On receiving the award, Polymorph CEO, Steve Harris said: “I am really proud to have Polymorph’s Mercury software chosen as the 2019 Prestige Winner, amongst so many stand-out businesses doing great things in Merseyside.
“It’s really nice for myself and particularly the team to be recognised for all their hard work. I would encourage any business out there to go and apply”.
The MIAs are dedicated to celebrating the innovative work of businesses in Merseyside, with the prestige prize in particular, recognising innovation within the region for businesses which fall within the turnover category of £1million plus.
