The Heath maintenance team’s Elvis Presley celebration as business park gears up to re-open after Lockdown
Runcorn: June 19th, 2020: Members of the maintenance team who have kept one of the North-West’s major business locations operating through Lockdown have joined together to perform the Elvis Presley hit ‘If I Can Dream’.
The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn, home to over 100 individual firms, is due to fully reopen over the coming days, and The Heath’s maintenance crew has been working flat out to get all the health & safety and social distancing requirements in place in line with Government guidance.
Five members of the team took time out to celebrate the site re-opening with their own rendition of one of Elvis Presley’s most emotional hit records. Their performance was posted today on ‘HeathLive’, an interactive website set up by The Heath to keep businesses and the local community connected through Lockdown.
Popular Elvis Presley tribute artist Ian Williams, The Heath’s Accommodation Manager, is supported by HeathLive’s creator Simon Lewis and website host Ryan Lewis, the bass guitarist of Merseyside Band, The Hummingbirds. They are joined by two other members of the maintenance team, Martin Williams and Charles Sweeney.
John Lewis MBE, The Heath’s owner, says: “HeathLive has played a key role in keeping people connected during these traumatic times. It has been our way of bringing The Heath to the local community who have been unable to get here because of the Lockdown. We’ve kept The Heath operating over these past months, as a number of our science businesses are involved in critical Covid-19 related research.
‘We’ve also been working extremely hard to get everything in order for the site to fully reopen to all businesses as the Lockdown restrictions ease. It’s been a massive task for all of our maintenance crew, and their brilliant rendition of one of Elvis Presley’s most memorable hits seems most appropriate to celebrate the re-opening of our site for business.”
Mr Lewis adds: “We’re all affected by world events, covered widely by the mainstream media, but here on HeathLive we like to entertain and promote the good news stories happening onsite and locally. Our song is in recognition of world events but by getting together and lightening the mood, and supporting health and unity, is our way of helping people get through the day as best we can.”
HeathLive, which was officially launched by Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram in April, has proved to be a huge hit with leading personalities from the world of entertainment, sport and politics posting daily messages for the local community. Star names include Ester Rantzen, Joe Root, Jonny Wilkinson, Padraig Harrington, Ricky Tomlinson, Alan Titchmarsh, Len Goodman, Roy Chubby Brown, Lord Michael Grade, and football legends from Liverpool and Everton.
Highlights have included films of Tony Blair’s former Communications Director Alastair Campbell playing the bagpipes in his bathroom and Lady Anne Dodd, the widow of Sir Ken Dodd, playing the piano. There’s also been stacks of music, comedy, arts and craft, exercise routines, recipes and a chatroom to keep people entertained and connected during Lockdown.
